A firm favourite for all, this unspoilt beach is mainly shingle at the top, with plenty of sand at low water. There are natural rock pools providing endless interest.

Good walks to Little and Great Hangman, two nearby hills. The beach also marks the edge of the Exmoor National Park. Convenient car parking and good facilities are nearby.

Directions

The nearest town is Ilfracombe. There is a scheduled bus service throughout the day, which runs from Barnstaple through Ilfracombe to Combe Martin. Barnstaple is served by both rail and National coach service.
