The Dorset Teddy Bear Museum is in a great new location at Eastgate, in the centre of Dorchester. Eastgate is a former 19th century Baptist church just 2 minutes walk from the Dinosaur Museum. The Teddy Bear Museum has all new displays in a unique & delightful setting. From the earliest teddy bears right up until today’s TV favourites they are all there to be seen and enjoyed. The oldest bear is ‘Michael’ who was made in 1906 and is based on the original pattern for the very first teddy bear.
The museum is set in the ‘home’ of Edward Bear – a human sized teddy bear – who with his family of people sized bears have been avid collectors of teddies! Famous bears such as Rupert Bear, Winnie the Pooh and Paddington are also on display. The whole visit is great nostalgic fun! Enter the enchanting world of the teddy bear in this wonderful family museum.
