Brownsea Island, Poole, Dorset

Atmospheric island of heath and woodland with wide variety of wildlife.

Brownsea is one of the few places where the red squirrel survives and although they are quite hard to spot, you may get a glimpse particularly in the autumn. Part of the island is leased to Dorset Wildlife Trust as a Nature Reserve.

Boats run from Poole Quay (01202 680580), Bournmouth Pier (01202 558550) and Sandbanks (01202 666226). Please note that Boats and quay are wheelchair accessible, but island paths are hilly and rough.
