Our menu is a moveable feast - changing sometimes daily with the seasonal availability of fresh ingredients and the catch landed at Bridport. The word ‘local’ crops up a lot when The Pilgrims is discussed, and not just in the traditional pub sense.
It’s more that we have become a bit of a focal point for good things produced hereabouts, a showcase for and champion of many of the wonderful artisan crafted drinks and foodstuffs from what would be the Appellation of Somerset, if there were any justice. We’re not fanatical about it, just more than a bit passionate. We have a habit of not standing on ceremony at The Pilgrims, the idea is restaurant food in an atmosphere that’s as relaxed as a good pub.
The Pilgrims is on the B3153 between Castle Cary and Lydford-on-Fosse, a mile east of the traffic lights on the A37 at Lydford, 3 miles west of the A371 junction by Castle Cary rail station.
