This is a popular beach that forms part of a one mile long stretch of sand. Activities in and on the water include swimming, diving, surfing, windsurfing, canoeing and fishing.

A National Trust beach and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The most prominent feature in the area is the famous Thurlestone Rock, painted by Turner, which is best seen at high tide.
